This was one of three images (PHIL# 9192 - 9194), depicting the usage of a bathtub's offset faucets. In this particular image, a child was depicted using the tub's offset mixing valve, thereby, adjusting the temperature of the flowing water. In images 9192 and 9193, both a child and an elderly woman were standing next to the tub using the faucet, which was installed closer to the outside of the tub. This faucet design enabled everyone to reach it more easily, including users who were standing, children, and the mobility-challenged, who were limited in their ability to bend and reach. This young boy was manipulating the mixing valve handle, thereby, adjusting the temperature of the flowing water.
