Description:
In this historical image that was provided by the Center for Disease Control's (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the South Tunnel bulkhead, locks and platform of the Queens Midtown Tunnel, in Queens, New York was depicted. Hopefully, this subterranean atmosphere was being monitored, and that safe levels of potentially dangerous particulates and gasses, were required to be maintained. It could not be determined as to what protective clothing accessories needed to be worn by workers, but hopefully, they were wearing a protective, gloves, masks and hardhats where applicable.
