Craig Giggleman-Northeast Region
Craig Giggleman first enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1986. He had just graduated from college and wanted to take advantage of the GI Bill program, knowing that he would eventually return to complete a graduate degree program. Giggleman was no stranger to military life having been raised in a family with a long history of serving thecountry in armed forces. Giggleman was on active duty in the 25th Division, a light infantry unit specializing in jungle warfare. During his time in the Army he was stationed at the Schofield Barracks in Hawaii and did tours in the Philippines and Korea. In 1989 Giggleman left the Army and enrolled in the National Guard. In 1994 he completed his full obligation and was honorably discharged from the Army. With a Master’s degree in ecotoxicology Giggleman began working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Ecological Service Offices in Texas. In 2012 he transferred to the Virginia Field Office in Gloucester, Virginia, where he now works as a fish and wildlife biologist. Giggleman says his military background and training prepared him extremely well for conducting emergency response operations. His son is continuing the family tradition of serving our country, having just enrolled in the U.S. Army just over a month ago.
