Jack Culpepper
Jack Culpepper. Jack joined the U.S. Navy in March 1978. He is a plank-owner of the USS Frank Cable (AS 40) which he boarded in Seattle, WA in 1979 and was later home-ported in Charleston, SC in service of Submarine Squadron 4 (SUBRON 4). His primary responsibilities involved maintenance and repair of communications and sonar systems aboard fast-attack submarines. He completed his tour of duty as an Electronics Technician First Class (E-6) in March of 1985 where he served as the electronic-operations supervisor at Harbors Operations Department, Trident Subase Bangor, WA.. He reentered government service with the USFWS in 2003 as a fish and wildlife biologist in Vero Beach FL, and Lafayette, LA in 2005 before assuming his current duties in 2007 as forester at the Carolina Sandhills NWR. . Culpepper received Navy Letters of Commendation for completing SUBRON 4 mission essential repairs onboard fast-attack submarines, and while serving TAD on the submarine-rescue vessel, USS Petrel (ASR 14).
