Description:

The 80-inch Bubble Chamber assembly, which is housed in a building contagious to the north side of the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron magnet ring. At the lower left side of the chamber is the hydraulic ram that serves to move the assembly along its track. Above the ram, on the first platform, is the aperture at which the light source and the photographic equipment is installed. On the second platform is the high vacuum pumping system, The vacuum chamber and coil can be seen in the large rectangular opening on the facing side of the magnet structure. At the far right of the assembly is the cryogenic equipment, and below it the console for the hydrolic system. c. 1963 For more information or additional images, please contact 202-586-5251.
