Title:
Sacramento State seniors study Howe Ave. levee raise project
Description:
Approximately 30 Sacramento State University construction management seniors observe levee construction operations Sept. 7, 2012 at the Corps’ Howe Avenue levee raise project near the American River in Sacramento, Calif. The class is measuring the time spent removing and delivering levee materials and the types of equipment being used to raise and reinforce more than 4,000 feet of levee by the end of October. The project is part of the American River Common Features project, a joint flood risk reduction effort between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, the state’s Central Valley Flood Protection Board/Department of Water Resources and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency.
