The national conference, which ran from Aug. 6-9, provided regulators the opportunity to share ideas and discuss ways to improve the permit program for the public. The Department of the Army's regulatory program is one of the oldest in the federal government and currently authorizes over $220 billion in economic development projects including transportation, energy, residential and commercial development while working to minimize impacts to U.S. waterways and wetlands.
