America Recycles Day 2012 was focused on food waste. Less often on our minds, but on average, we each waste about half of a pound of food each day. Each year on November 15, America Recycles Day, we reflect on our waste in the United States and act to better protect our environment. This year, EPAâs Food Recovery Challenge kicked off events across the country to highlight different ways we can reduce wasted food - from source reduction and donation, to simply composting.
