David McDaniel (center), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District program manager, gives an update on the Corps’ projects to reduce flood risk in the Sacramento area at a meeting of the Lower American River Task Force in Sacramento, Calif., Feb. 14, 2012. The task force has been meeting since 1994 to allow stakeholders to provide feedback on flood risk reduction projects to project planners. The Corps and its partners - the Central Valley Flood Protection Board and the Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency – are improving levees and working to increase the safety of Folsom Dam to reduce flood risk for Sacramento.
