Central Kitchenâs Nutrition Out Reach Coordinator Lydia Mills, Local Initiatives and Procurement Coordinator Joelle Johnson, and The Campus Kitchens Projectâs Matt Schnarr water seed holes and select seedlings, during work on the Truck Farm in Washington, D.C. on Friday, April 6, 2012. The Truck Farm is a D.C. Central Kitchen and U.S. Department of Agricultureâs Peopleâs Garden Initiative partnership. Like other Truck Farms around the country, this trusty pick-up will travel around the city to schools and community sites, teaching children about healthy eating and where their food comes from through the garden display in its truck-bed. Along with other local donors, the Peopleâs Garden Initiative supports this âedible exhibitâ by providing seedlings and educational materials. Ms. Mills and Mr. Schnarr are on staff with D.C.
