The PNNL developed multi-blade failure detector for food processing. Researchers at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory developed the multi-blade failure detector for food processing, currently in use at food processing plants worldwide. The monitor detects knife failures on food processing lines within one minute, triggering an alarm for blade replacement. This technology was one of 11 doe developed technologies to be selected by the federal laboratory consortium to receive the 2001 Excellence in Technology Transfer Award.
