New Enhanced Sluicer Installed

Description:

The Hanford Single Shell Tank retrieval and closure team installed an enhanced reach sluicer system into C-112 tank on the week of September 4th. The new sluicer, dubbed the Extended Reach Sluicer System (ERSS), can extend 27 feet across the tank and can spray about 100 gallons per minute at a pressure of 100 pounds per square inch. Along with a traditional sluicer placed near the roof of the single shell tank, will be used to retrieve the contents of the tank after the completion of all construction activities in November 2011.
